Design

Talking about the design first, the Zopo Speed 8 sports plastic body with metal finished edges to give it an appealing design. The back panel of the handset sports a smooth finish and is made out of plastic. The phone has metallic grilles on the top and bottom – first acts as an earpiece and the second is a speaker. The device is a tad thick at 9.8mm around the waist and tips the scale at 136 grams. The SoC utilises the tri-cluster architecture, which means it offers three set of cores – allowing the SoC to use lowest set of cores to offer better battery life and high-end cores to offer smooth gaming experience. The processor is further supported by 4-gigs of RAM and a Mali T880 MP4 graphics processing unit. The phone comes with 32GB of internal memory, which can be further increased up to 64GB by inserting a microSD card.

 

Camera

Moving on to the camera department, the Zopo Speed 8 boasts a 21MP Sony IMX230 camera sensor on the back, aided by a dual-LED flash, phase detection autofocus, f/2.2 aperture, ISO control, Continuous Shooting, HDR, full HD video recording support at 30 frames per second and other imaging tweaks. For selfies and video calling purposes, there’s a handsome 8-megapixel secondary snapper on board, assisted by an LED flash to capture quality self-portraits under low light conditions.

Connectivity and battery

In terms of connectivity, the Zopo Speed 8 gets a reversible USB Type-C port that eliminates the hassle while plugging in your phone for charging or data transfer. The phone offers dual-SIM slots, 4G LTE support for Indian 4G networks, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC, GPS and GLONASS. The handset is fuelled by a beefy 3,600mAh battery that should manage to survive a day of heavy usage. It also sports MediaTek’s Pump Express Plus charging technology, which allows the battery to charge quickly via a bundled adapter.
