To strong its foothold in the same segment, the company recently introduced the Lenovo VIBE K5 and VIBE K5 Plus at this year’s MWC in Barcelona. Both the new Lenovo offerings are budget smartphones with 4G LTE support and premium design.

Design

The Lenovo VIBE K5 and VIBE K5 Plus, both offer similar design. They sport premium, durable and appealing metal unibody designs. They are among the few smartphones in the sub-Rs 10,000 price range to boast a metal unibody design. They are pretty slim with a waistline of Rs 8.2mm. The VIBE K5 weighs 150 grams, while the VIBE K5 Plus tips the scale at 142 grams. They also get Dolby ATMOS-powered speakers on the back for immersive media experience. So, in the design section, both the VIBE K5 and VIBE K5 Plus sport identical designs.

Display and OS

The Lenovo VIBE K5 and VIBE K5 Plus, both are equipped with 5-inch IPS LCD displays. However, the Lenovo VIBE K5 sports an HD screen with a pixel density of 294 pixels per inch. The Lenovo VIBE K5 and VIBE K5 Plus, both are equipped with 2-gigabytes of RAM and Adreno 405 graphics processors for performance. For storage needs, they offer 16-gigabytes of internal memory, which users can further expand up to 32-gigabytes by inserting microSD cards. However, when it comes to the processor, the VIBE K5 is fuelled by an octa-core 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 415 SoC, while the VIBE K5 Plus is backed by a more powerful octa-core Snapdragon 616 processor. So, the VIBE K5 Plus is capable of delivering better performance than the VIBE K5, but their RAM and storage capacity are the same.

Camera

Camera features of the Lenovo VIBE K5 and VIBE K5 Plus are identical. They are equipped with 13-megapixel primary shooters with autofocus, 1080p video recording support at 30 frames per second, Face detection, Touch to focus, ISO, White balance presets, LED flash and CMOS sensors. For selfie lovers and video-calling needs, they sport 5-megapixel secondary snappers on the front. Overall, they offer decent camera features for their price range.

Connectivity and battery

Just like the camera, storage, RAM, screen size and design, the connectivity and battery specs of the VIBE K5 Plus and VIBE K5 are the same. They offer dual-SIM slots, 4G LTE support for Indian networks, LTE Cat4 speeds of up to 150mbps, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, micro-USB 2.0, and A-GPS. They are powered by 2,750mAh batteries, which are capable of delivering one day of mixed usage.
